Purpose:
To work and improve the footwork of offense to defense transitions with a ball in play
What You Need:
- Divide your players into two teams
- Each team should have a coach with two balls
- One team will go at a time

How It Works:
- The coach will toss the first ball up to the attackers (simulating a set)
- The attackers will hit the ball over the net
- Immediately after the attackers hit, the coach will toss the second ball (simulating a block or a tip)
- The team must transition immediately from offense to defense and keep the second ball in play
- Rotate teams once each has completed the two tosses
Results & Tips:
- This adds variety and multiple repetitions for players in working to transition from offense to defense
- It is always helpful to start more advanced drills at 50-75% so that your players understand the core concepts and technique first, then move it up to full speed
